Sheikh Abu Bakr bin Ali Ash-Shatri (often spelled Ash-Shaatree) is a Saudi imam and Quran reciter, born in Jeddah in 1970 to a family with deep roots in Quranic learning.
He memorized the Quran at a young age and went on to study Islamic sciences. He has led prayers as imam in several mosques, including during Tarawih and Qiyam in Ramadan, in Saudi Arabia and abroad.
His recitation is known for its rich melody, deep emotional weight, and excellent observance of tajweed rules, which earned him a global audience early in his career.
Sheikh Abu Bakr Ash-Shaatree has recorded the complete Mushaf and many supplications, and his voice remains among the most recognized in modern Quran recitation.
